We need to secure a Free Trade Agreement with Peru to keep them out of the awaiting fate of Venezuela and Bolivia as those economies crumble due to their communist leanings and anti-capitalist points of view.
Peru can be saved and they have been a good ally of the United States and failure to work out a fair trade deal would only lead to more economic problems in South America and those folks there, just do not deserve to be caught in Hugo Chavez’s web of half-truths and communisms unfulfilled promises.
It would be very nice to see PUFTA the Peru US Free Trade Agreement finally finished. Not only will the trade agreement insure workers rights, but it gives Peru strength and economic stability and the ability to build up its infrastructure to comply with the necessary environmental issues there that are so critical to the region.
Peru has a lot to offer the United States such as oil and this will help us cut our addiction to Foreign Middle Eastern Oil and the oil in Peru is more pure than that of Venezeula’s heavy crude oil with contaminants in it. I would urge our government to move to finish trade negotiations with Peru to help the American People, lower oil prices and prevent Peru from moving in step with Communism Failure countries on the brink of economic collapse. Consider this in 2006.
