Rifle Stocks

As I mentioned, there are multiple reasons that people love to use their pellet rifles, but no matter what you use your pellet rifle for, there are a few things that you should know. Always remember to review your safety guidelines before using your pellet or bb-gun rifle each season.

For instance, be aware of the different pellet rifle calibers:

· .22 caliber pellets are the heaviest ones. Because of their weight, they are less likely to be thrown off course because of weather patterns like rain. Therefore, they are generally the most accurate. Of course, the problem with .22 caliber pellets is that they do not have the range that others have – they will not be able to travel as far or as fast, but they will retain a lot of energy. These can be good for shooting game.

· .20 is not a very common caliber, yet it exists. Some think that it takes the best of both worlds, lightness and power.

· .177 caliber pellets are good for shooting at smaller animals (like the pests on your land). It is going to move faster than the above two calibers, and it will drop less, but it can be more altered by weather.

Do you want to set up a regulation rifle range, one like they use in the Olympics? You only need 33 feet. Set up a 1.22” in diameter bulls-eye. To really get a bulls-eye, though, you are going to need to hit a small dot (.05”!), right in the middle of the bulls-eye.

In fact, to score a perfect 10, you must hit this pin-sized bulls-eye. To get at least a 9, you must hit within the ¼” ring around the tiny pin-sized “real” bulls-eye. If you cannot keep your shot within the black bulls eye, you are not going to get more than a 3!

A good place to look for pellet rifles is on the Internet – this is true regardless of whether you are looking for a new or used pellet rifle, regardless of whether you are already an excellent marksman or just starting out.

Of course, you should also check some local shops, as well. They can give you a bit more hands on experience, experience that you may be craving.

Also, before you go out a buy a new pellet rifle, try out some. Try out your best friend’s pellet rifle, etc. Make sure that you end up with one that you are really going to love.
